Volunteer to Assist in the Development of Programs for Latino & All Youth

We would love to have your help, in any way that you can. You could write individual lesson plans for the Self-Discovery Class. We especially need lesson plans in the areas of 1) Why it is great to be a Latino or other minority (Called Cultural Confidence), 2) The importance and value of being bilingual, 3) Encouragement to succeed, i.e. ‘Si, Se Puede’, 4) Ideas in overcoming obstacles to tutoring younger siblings, 5) Why stay in high school, 6) Tips for getting scholarships to higher education, 7) Various ‘Life Skills’ in being successful in America.

You can also volunteer on your own by implementing elements of the Latino Initiative in your own community, i.e. start a chapter of YDI in your city and start building strength in the Latino youth. (And if you’re not Latino, do the same for your own race or culture.)

We’d love to hear from you on any subject on this web page or in any of our documents and proposals. It is the goal of YDI to affect the lives of as many youth as possible. We need local volunteers, and would like to see this movement go nation-wide. To be nation-wide would require people with leadership skills way beyond our own. We would like to connect with other organizations doing similar things as us, and connect up in a nationwide network. Please contact us to help with the Latino Initiative, the Self-Discovery Class, or in whatever way you can.
